2019 Stand Up Calendar

The base of the calendar is 11 1/2 by 4 1/4.  It is scored at 4", 8", 9", and 10".  The front was decorated with the Sandpaper background stamp and the numbers for the year.  I used Basic Black and Crumb Cake.  A fun project.

Birthday: Ragged Daisy Blessings

May your troubles be less and your blessings be more is one of my favorite Irish blessings.  I used both watercolor powder and watercolor with stamps on this card.  I sprinkled the powder on one side of the card and spritzed.  I used inked stamps on the other side, but I placed them in the spritzed water before I stamped them.  I have quite a bit of white still showing, which created an entirely new look to my watercoloring.

Tarnished Foil: Clocks and Gears

I used gold paper for the base and added black stazon and silver, gold, and copper embossing powder.  The steps I used are:

  • I covered a piece of white card stock with gold paper.
  • I lightly coated the gold paper with Staz On.
  • I stamped gears with Versa Mark  and embossed with gold embossing powder.
  • I lightly coated the gold paper with Staz On again.
  • I embossed with the gears embossing folder.
  • I lightly coated the gold paper with Staz On again.
  • I lightly coated with Versa Mark and embossed with copper embossing powder.

Birthday: Forest with Tarnished Foil

I saw this technique on SCS and just had to try it.  It takes quite a few steps, but it is quite easy.

  • I covered a piece of card stock with foil.
  • I lightly coated the foil with Staz On.
  • I stamped the bushes with Versa Mark and then embossed with gold embossing powder.
  • I lightly coated the foil with Staz On again.
  • I embossed with the Woodland embossing folder.
  • I lightly coated the foil with Staz On again.
  • I lightly coated the foil with Versa Mark and then embossed with silver embossing powder.
I think I will try using copper embossing powder next time for an additional layer.

Valentine's: Match books with Conversation Hearts

Last year I made my grandson's last valentines.  This year I added a different grandson and a granddaughter to the list!  Since I had so many to make (70), I made the design very simple.  I created a match book and stapled the conversation hearts in.  The heart on the front was printed on the computer and punched out.  Easy peasy!
