66th Anniversary for My Parents

My parents are celebrating their 66th anniversary!  They have created their little slice of heaven in the mountains close to us.  They started with a hillside and water rights.  From there, every weekend they would go up to the cabin and work, work, work.

They have created a legacy for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

We love you, Mom and Dad!

This card used a Stampin' Up set from 2000 (I don't know the name),  Loving Thoughts, Gorgeous Grunge, and Stacks of Wishes for the inside sentiment.

Baby Shower Invitation

My son is expecting his first child at the end of August.  This is the invitation for his baby shower.  The gender of the baby is unknown, so Aaron and I designed the card with all the appropriate colors!

Birthday: Star Quilt

Mossy Meadow is a warm green; I think I will use it a lot.

I cut the star out first. Then, using the kites from Stampin' Up's You Send Me Soaring stamp set, I pieced together the quilt.  I used both glue and snail tape to hold the edges down.

When I first envisioned this design, I thought the star should have the point up.  But it just didn't look right.  So I put the the star askew; I like the visual much better.

Then I ran the entire piece through the embossing folder for the quilting effect.  I sponged the edges, added some layers, and added the sentiment.

Wedding: Card in a Box

The wedding's colors are coral and blue.  I don't think I would put these two colors together often.

I used Calypso Coral and Island Indigo.  I used Very Vanilla for the neutral color.  I went with the journey  theme, using trucks filled with hearts, the bride and groom driving, a bicycle built for two, a rustic truck.  The other designs were hearts and scallops.

I used some Tim Holtz metal pieces.  The key to my heart and two sentiments attached with brads.  The sentiments were too large for the size of box I have made in the past, so I had to enlarge the box.

The back has a stamped sentiment and a money holder.  I still really enjoy making these cards!
