Scrapbooking: Museum of the Rockies

Our annual fall trip to Yellowstone National Park always includes a trip to the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana.  No matter how many times we go, the museum never fails to thrill and entertain us.  This year Jakob was three years old and LOVES dinosaurs.  He was absolutely fascinated with the entire experience!

Aaron created this page, with a little help from Malanie.

Scrapbooking: Jason at Boot Camp

The background colors are Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, and More Mustard.  Malanie created these pages, with a little help from Aaron.

I wish Stampin' Up! would make more 12x12 papers.

Scrapbooking: Yellowstone Park

Our annual trip to Yellowstone National Park was in September.  Aaron made this page showing the trip to Bozeman, Montana.  The snow was falling as we drove up that morning, but what a beautiful drive!

The 12x12 paper is from the Neutrals Collection, so I am not sure what color it is.  Cajun Craze and Soft Suede were also used.

The alphabet set is a new set for me.  It is a Scrabble Alphabet.  How fun!

Scrapbooking: Project Life with Ella Again

This is the back side of the Project Life page for Ella.  My daughter, Aaron, is the scrapbooker here.  My son, Adam, is the proud father.

Green and purple are the background colors.  Again, embossing folders, stamps, pearls, and punches were used on each of the Project Life sections.  A sticker set was also used.

Scrapbooking: More Boot Camp Pages for Jason

Fortunately, my daughter, Aaron, and daughter-in-law, Malanie, are scrapbookers.  I prefer making cards.  But, about once a month, they get together at my house to create their scrapbook pages.

My son, Jason, graduated from boot camp and is now is attending AIT training.  So many pictures and memories!  Today, Aaron and Malanie created four pages to add to his scrapbook.

Until next month...

Christmas 2x2 Inchie Challenge

Another two-inchie challenge for our card and scrapbooking club.  The tree is done in Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, and Very Vanilla.  The ornament is done in Real Red and Garden Green.  Each inchie used three stamped and punched images.  Then, the image was scored in half and attached to two other images.  Easy peasy!

Autumn 2x2 Square Challenge

This month's challenge was to create a 2x2 square with an Autumn or Thanksgiving theme.  Aaron and I used the same stamps, but completely different results.

Both acorns were stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I colored mine with More Mustard and Early Espresso markers.  Aaron did not color her acorn because she stamped on More Mustard.

I used Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake with the sentiment traditionally placed.  Aaron used Chocolate Chip for the background and More Mustard to stamp on.  She punched the sentiment and sponged the edge.  Aaron also placed the sentiment non-traditionally, but with a great result.

The stamps and die are from My Daily Bread.

Bosses Day: Wordle Design

Bosses Day is coming up soon.  This card is for my daughter's boss (who is a Minnesota Vikings fan).

Colors:
Blackberry Bliss

No stamps.  The design was made on Wordle.net.  I copied and pasted a poem about bosses day from a website.  Then I added some extra words.  The program allows you to choose a color palette and a layout.  You can change the layout until you are happy with the design.  And it is free!

My grandson's birthday is in a week.  My goodness, where did time go?  He will be 10 this year.

A simple invitation using the skateboarder.

I used Night of Navy and White for the colors.  The inside of the card was computer generated with the invitation specifics.

Scrapbook: Boot Camp with Project Life

Project Life is a fun way to get many pictures on a page, yet still be able to create a page.  My son, Jason, just left for boot camp at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.  I had recently purchased the stamp sets just for this reason.

My daughter, Aaron, created this page for her scrapbook club challenge for the month.

Birthday: Label Flip Card with Wetlands

Colors used:
Soft Suede
Bashful Blue
Very Vanilla

Stamps used
Wetlands

Tools used:
Thinlet Label Card Dies

I had to redo this card multiple times.  The original stamps I had chosen for the sentiment were not stamping well.  I finally gave up on those stamps and went to an old Stampin' Up! standby.

This seems to be a disadvantage to the card design itself.  If you make one mistake, you have to do the entire card over.  Even though I love the design of the label flip card, I don't think I have the patience to make many of these cards.

I stamped the colors before the moose.  When I was done, I had a green moose; I used a blender pen to make my moose less green.  Next time I may shadow the moose.

I love this card!

Birthday: Watercolor with Vellum

Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi, and Whisper White are the colors used.  I used a base of Island Indigo with an embossed layer, also Island Indigo.  The Wild Wasabi was the base for the Whisper White.

The white layer has randomly,  watercolor-stamped in both Island Indigo and Wild Wasabi inks.  I used the Happy Watercolor set of stamps.

The vellum was stamped with Versa Mark using Wildflower Meadow, and then embossed with white embossing powder.

White ribbon and happy birthday were added to finish it off.  I enjoyed this card.

Love this card for its simplicity and elegance.

Make A Wish: Step Block Card

I saw a similar card on Pinterest and I had to make it.

The pattern does require 12"x12" card stock for the base.  The card folds flat into an envelope.

The DSP star on the front was our challenge for this month's card club.
