CD Jewel Case: It's A Boy

I love the photo album in a cd jewel case. This will be my daughter Aaron's Valentine's gift. The beautiful little angel is my grandson, Leo.

I have refined the design a bit since my first photo album.  See the original here:

Front cover: 4 3/4" x 4 3/4"
Back cover: 5 3/8" x 4 5/8"

Accordian:
2 pieces 4" x 12", scored at 4" and 8"
1 piece 4" x 8", scored at 4"

Tag punch

The two pieces of 4" x12" are connected by placing the 4" x 8" directly on top of the two pieces.

CD Jewel Case: Father and Daughter Photo Album

I love the photo album in a cd jewel case.  This will be my son Adam's Valentine's gift.  The beautiful little angel is my granddaughter, Ella.

I took the pictures right after I made the album; the glue was not quite dry.  After a day or so, the glue will dry clear.

I have refined the design a bit:

Front cover: 4 3/4" x 4 3/4"
Back cover: 5 3/8" x 4 5/8"
Mats for covers (2): 4 3/8" x 4 1/2"
Accordian:
    2 pieces 4" x 12", scored at 4" and 8"
    1 piece 4" x 8", scored at 4"

Tag punched

The two pieces of 4" x12" are connected by placing the 4" x 8" directly on top of the two pieces.

Photo Album from a CD Jewel Case

This is such a fun and useful project!  The CD jewel case needs to be the thick case, not the mini case.  You can fit twelve 4" square photos in the album, so you need the extra thickness in the case.

The bottoms are 5 1/4 x 4 5/8" and 4 7/8 x 4 3/4".  I could have gone just a bit larger, but I wanted a little wiggle room.  The mats are 4 1/2 x 4 3/8".

The accordion is made from two pieces of cardstock 4"x12", scored at 4" and 8".  The two pieces are held together with a piece of cardstock 4"x8", scored at 4".  The 4"x8" piece completely overlap the two accordion pieces; make sure the score lines are still able to fold cleanly.  I used red sticky tape on all of the pieces on the accordion, including the bottom and the mat.

I used red sticky tape to attach the punched tab for the handle.  I could have used ribbon, but the punched tab fit into the case.

Altered Altoids Box for Ella

My granddaughter is almost 1 1/2 years old.  I had created the first altered Altoids box when Ella was about 2 weeks old.  She has grown so much, a second box was needed.  I made the boxes look different on the top so my son would know which box was which.

Coastal Cabana was chosen for the color to match at color of the box.  I used sticky tape to hold the ribbon to the paper.  There are pictures on the back of each card; that extra weight helps the cards stand alone.

My son is such a proud and doting father!  He takes the boxes to work with him.

Altered Altoids Tin: Ella's Photo Album

This month's challenge was to alter an Altoids tin.  I chose to make a photo album because I have a brand new granddaughter, Ella.  She is two weeks old right now; we have many photos of her.  This is for my son to take to work and leave on his desk.
